Shop for a cause! Filipino fashion groups come together to help Typhoon Odette survivors

Be sure to visit ‘Babangon Tayo: Filipino Fashion for a Cause’ this weekend
It has been a month since Typhoon Odette has struck many areas in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, and still, survivors need help in order to get back on their feet. In light of this situation, the Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and Philippine Fashion Coalition (PFC), in partnership with Ayala Foundation, created an online bazaar that celebrates Filipino fashion artistry that also pays homage to the philanthropic life of the late Filipino design legend Ben Farrales.
Dubbed “Babangon Tayo: Filipino Fashion for a Cause,” the shopping event brings together 15 of the top fashion designers and labels of the country as they present their best pieces for sale to support fellow Filipinos who were affected by the calamity, and continue to need assistance.
“Choose any of these Filipino designer pieces,” the groups say in their virtual space. “100 percent of the proceeds from your donation will go directly to our Typhoon Odette/Rai rehabilitation program.”
Present on the digital shopping space are garments imbued with local tapestry by designers Ann Casas, Jo-rel Espina, Jo Ann Bitagcol, among others. Special jewelry pieces are courtesy of homegrown brands Mjorian, Jasmin Jewelry, and Alchemista. While artisanal handbags and other accessories are presented by Aranaz, Jhaz Footwear, and Adante Leyesa.
Items are being sold out quickly, so better get shopping.
