FASHION PULIS: Respect her choice

Published Jan 22, 2022 11:14 am

If Network Celebrity 1 (NC1) had her way, she would rather have everyone who had insider information to keep their mouths shut. NC1 does not want controversy as her career is on smooth sailing and she does not want to ignite any conflict. However, her inner circle is tempted to spill the tea.

NC1 was involved in a sort of love triangle. NC1 is known to have developed a friendship with Male Colleague (MC). NC1 and MC also work with each other and thus, they cannot avoid being seen together. However, MC is allegedly in a secret relationship with Network Celebrity 2 (NC2).

When NC2 noticed the closeness and selfies of NC1 and MC, jealousy reared its ugly head. NC2 allegedly confronted NC1 in private. NC1 was cool, but MC was embarrassed at the incident. MC then asked NC2 to join him in apologizing to NC1. She supposedly refused.

Still feeling ashamed of the incident and given that he is a family friend of NC1, MC decided to drop by her home to apologize personally. MC told NC2 of what he was going to do. Unknowingly, MC’s gesture was not taken well by NC2 after seeing the proof. Meanwhile, insider friends remained puzzled at NC2’s actions, as she was made aware of MC’s purpose for seeing NC1 in the first place.

‘Nature is at work. Character and destiny are her handiwork. She gives us love and hate, jealousy and reverence. All that is ours is the power to choose which impulse we shall follow.’ − David Seabury

Authentic Self

Liking and disliking personalities result from diverse factors. Celebrities are liked because they have a certain appeal. Such appeal can be physical beauty, genuine talent, or the unexplainable X-factor. Some lucky ones have it all. Similarly, certain celebrities are disliked because of their negative appeal even if they possess talent or admirable looks. Their personalities on or off camera just rub people the wrong way.

Popular Personality (PP)’s appeal is physical and innate. PP has amassed a following who seem to believe in her sincerity in promoting various programs. However, the past might catch up on PP if stories about her young past emerge. For example, she was not exactly a saint then and might even be tagged as a bully given her behavior. Allegedly, she vandalized school property by writing bad words against a fellow student. Her attitude towards her mother was not pleasant as well. Those incidents would not speak well of her image these days.

As the cliché goes, time is the great healer and changer. In her case, time led to maturity and perhaps a new perspective on life and treating others. PP probably went through an undesirable young phase before. However, if her current image is now authentic, then time was successful in changing her for the better.

‘Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.’ − Barack Obama
