IMUS, Cavite – Netizens are amused at the viral video of a pack of dogs joining their owner in prayer before a meal.
In the video, the dogs are seen patiently waiting as their fur parent Fernando Bote said grace. One of the dogs held on to Bote's arm with its head bowed as if in prayer.
Once the prayer was finished, Bote gave his go signal and the dogs ate their food.
"Kada kakain sila, ganyan po ginawa kong way ng pasasalamat. At isa pa po, 'yung maturuan po sila ng disiplina at magandang asal, isang malaking kasiyahan din po sa akin 'yun (Every time they eat, that's the way I say grace. Also, teaching them to be disciplined and well-behaved is a fulfillment for me)," Bote told the Manila Bulletin.
According to the 46-year-old construction worker, he has been a dog lover ever since he was a child.
Bote currently cares for six native-bred dogs, referred to as aspin or asong Pinoy. Bote says aspins are sweet and are low-maintenance pets. Based on his experience, they're not picky eaters and they don't get sick often.
"Wala pong sikreto sa pag-aalaga sa kanila, tanging pagmamahal lang po. Kaya sila ganyan, siguro 'yun 'yung way nila nang pagtanaw ng utang na loob sa ginagawa namin (There's no secret to taking care of them, just love. That's why they're like that, it must be their way of giving back for the things we do for them)," Bote shared.
