The sustained campaign by the police against illegal drugs has resulted in the confiscation of P329,800 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and the arrest of eight more suspects in Taguig and Muntinlupa, according to a report by the Southern Police District (SPD) headed by Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.

On Jan. 19 in Taguig, Randy Oliveros, 41, and Armando Ballon, 55, were arrested for possession of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) during an “Oplan Galugad” conducted by the Taguig Sub-Station 9 mobile patrol unit and Taguig Peace and Order Unit (TPOU) along Samaba Street, Barangay New Lower Bicutan.
Confiscated from them were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 2.1 grams with a value of P14,280.
In Bgy. Upper Bicutan in Taguig, the Taguig police’s drug enforcement unit (DEU) launched a buy-bust operation along Manalo Street that resulted in the arrest of Nasrudin Adil, 36.
Confiscated from him were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 12.5 grams with a standard drug price of P85,000 and P200 buy-bust money.
Another buy-bust operation along C-6 Road in Barangay Lower Bicutan in Taguig led to the arrest of two drug suspects identified as Suria Sandigan, 36, and Armie Arias, 27.
Seized in the operation were five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 27.7 grams with a value of P188,360 and P200 buy-bust money.
In Muntinlupa, the police from Sub-Station 3 arrested suspect Archie Adolfo along Montillano Street in Barangay Alabang for possession of one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with a weight of five grams amounting to P34,000.
On Jan. 20 in Purok 7, Barangay Tanyag in Taguig, female suspects Catherine Beso, 30, and Mary Rose Villanueva, 34, were arrested when personnel of the police’s Sub-Station 8 conducted “Oplan Galugad.”
Confiscated from them were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 1.2 grams with a value of P8,160.
All the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis while the arrested suspects are under the custody of the police.
Cases for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared by the police against the arrested suspects.
