‘Moon Knight’ gets an unexpected and sad twist
French actor Gaspard Ulliel has died due to a skiing incident in Savoie, France on Jan. 19, 2022, according to news agency AFP. He was 37.

As a noted actor, Ulliel took home multiple recognitions for his performance including a César Award for Most Promising Actor in the film “A Very Long Engagement” in 2004. Among his famous roles were the young Hannibal Lecter in “Hannibal Rising” (2007) and fashion genius Yves Saint Laurent in the biopic “Saint Laurent” (2014). In 2015, he became a recipient of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters.
Apart from his screen portrayals, Ulliel was also known for being the face of numerous luxury brands. Most notable of all was his partnership with Chanel for its men's fragrance campaign where he worked with Academy-winning director Martin Scorsese.
Ulliel was set to appear in the forthcoming Marvel series “Moon Knight” alongside fellow actors Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and May Calamawy. A trailer of the series was released last Jan. 18, where the late actor portrayed Anton Mogart or the Midnight Man.
