The new BMW 5 Series
BMW shows how luxury can also be progressive and practical with the arrival of the new 5 Series sedan. The new 5 Series, available in 520i Luxury form, brings with it a heightened sense of outward authority, an interior brimming with detail refinements, and cutting-edge innovations.
The changes are most evident on its exterior. The BMW twin-kidney grille has been redesigned with extra width and height, and it drops down further into the front apron while being framed by a single-piece surround. It’s flanked by headlights that bring a modern twist to the focused look, with new adaptive LEDs that include a High-beam Assistant and an adaptive cornering function for added safety at night. Behind, black edging and a new L-shaped graphic give the rear lights additional visual impact.
The cabin offers a premium and relaxing experience with Dakota Leather seats coupled with the Ambient Lighting Package and 4-Zone Automatic Air Conditioning. Its open-pored fine wood interior trim and pearl chrome finisher also complements the 5’s sporty and elegant characteristics.
In the driver’s seat, a new 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster Display offers a more intuitive and customizable infotainment system, coupled with BMW Gesture Control to easily adjust many in-car functions.
Premium features like the 16-speaker Harmon Kardon surround system along with connectivity options such as the Apple Carplay and Android Auto further let passengers seamlessly integrate and enjoy their entertainment in the vehicle.
Entering and exiting the 520i Luxury is made easier with the Comfort Access system: a convenient way to lock and unlock the vehicle, and load items into the boot with the Kick Function. It also has a Soft Close function which pulls the doors in quietly.
Powering the 5 Series is the latest generation of its four-cylinder inline unit, with award-winning BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, channeled through an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The engine’s peak torque of 290-Nm can be summoned up over a broad rev range from 1,350 – 4,250 rpm, while its maximum output of 184-hp is on tap between 5,000 – 6,500 rpm.

The new BMW 520i Luxury comes with a comprehensive five-year BMW warranty or 200,000 kms., whichever comes first, and retails at P4,290,000. It is now available in dealerships nationwide.
