WATCH: ‘Money Heist: Korea’ drops first trailer


The heist continues in the Korean Peninsula

The heist may be over in Spain but a new one is set to unfold in South Korea with the coming of its adaptation of the hit series “La Casa de Papel (Money Heist).”

Dubbed “Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area,” the upcoming series is set to follow the same storyline as the original and presents a stellar cast including “Squid Game” star Park Hae-soo as Berlin, Jeon Jong-seo as Tokyo, Lee Won-jong as Moscow, Kim Ji-hun as Denver, Jang Yoon-ju as Nairobi, Park Jung-woo as Rio, Kim Ji-hun as Helsinki, and Lee Kyu-ho as Oslo.

The first teaser shows Yoo Ji-tae as the Professor, the leader of the gang, choosing from a set of masks, which also showcases the iconic Salvador Dali mask, a nod to the original series. Actress Kim Yun-jin is also seen in the trailer as Seon Woo-jin, the leader of the crisis negotiation team of the National Police Agency.

“Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area” is directed by Directed by Kim Hong-sun and written by Ryu Yong-jae, Kim Hwan-chae, and Choe Sung-jun and is slated to be released this 2022.
