Three nabbed for gun ban violation in Las Pinas and Paranaque


Three persons were arrested by the police in violation of the gun ban in separate Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) by members of the Las Pinas and Paranaque City police.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director, Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, identified the suspects as Larry Quejada, 42, Christian Sandoval, 40, both residents of Las Pinas City, and Roderick Ramos, 38, of Paranaque City.

Macaraeg said members of the of the Pamplona Sub-Station in Las Pinas City were conducting SACLEO when they spotted Quejada and Sandoval roaming around at about 8:30 p.m. along River Drive, Barangay Pamplona, Las Pinas City.

He said that when the suspects were accosted by the police, found in their possession were two improvised hand guns with 12 pieces of 12-gauge ammunition.

In Paranaque City, Ramos was arrested at about 11:00 p.m. by members of the Paranaque City police Sub-Station 7 along Sitio Tuyuan, Barangay Merville.

Macaraeg said members of the Paranaque City Sub-station 7 were conducting routine patrol when they were approached by a concerned citizen and reported Ramos for having a suspected gun tucked on his waist.

He said police acting on the report of the concerned citizen immediately proceeded to the place where the suspect was seen roaming around and found in his possession a .38 caliber revolver with three ammunitions

The SPD chief said the arrested suspects were charged with violation of RA 1059 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act) in relation to BP 881 (Omnibus Election Code),
