Pasay City's COVID-19 cases down by 653

The Pasay City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) said more recoveries from COVID-19 are being recorded in the city with cases down to 1,205 from Monday's 1,858.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city’s intensified contact tracing and house-to-house symptoms check helped them bring down the cases by 653.

She said the city government has adopted several strategies in its COVID-19 approach -- the “Oplan Sita” being conducted by the local police through routine patrol around the city on strict adherence to health protocols and the practice of EMI Habit (Ensure to always wash your hands, Mask is a must, and Implementing physical distancing).

The police, with the help of barangay officials, are also implementing the policy of not allowing unvaccinated individuals to get out of their houses unless in buying their basic necessities.

Rubiano said the city government also visits and conducts free flu vaccinations in different barangays in the city which can provide additional protection to residents.

She also called on the unvaccinated residents to get their jabs against COVID-19 as soon as possible. The city is now accepting walk-ins at its various vaccination sites.
