A fire burned down three houses in Pateros early morning on Wednesday, Jan. 19.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Pateros, they received a phone call from a concerned citizen about the fire, which started at about 5:23 a.m. in Sitio Pagkakaisa on Ragas Street in Barangay Sta. Ana.

All operations personnel of BFP-Pateros responded to the incident.
First alarm was raised at 5:24 a.m. and the fire was put out at 6:30 a.m.
According to BFP-Pateros, three houses were damaged by the fire, affecting eight families. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
BFP-Pateros offered the following tips to prevent fires at home:
- If you are using candle or gas lamp, extinguish it after using and place it away from anything that can easily catch fire
- Plug appliances that are often used like aircon and refrigerator directly to a wall outlet
- Use extension cord of good quality. Do not use “octopus wiring” or plugging different appliances to one extension cord. This will result in overheating.
