“Hi Cips! Been wanting to be introduced to you all for two years now.” — COVID-19
This was the start of mom-of-two Chynna Ortaleza's Instagram post. The family got their RT-PCR results and they are all positive.
"Everyone who knows us will attest to the defense that we put up against this virus. It found us in a place that we secured so that our kids could play safely and still enjoy sun and nature," she continues. She also shared that they have no idea how they got it. "We have no close contacts. I did hear immense coughing next door (but who would have thought?) We have a strict family bubble. All deliveries are left at the gate—sanitized and sprayed before bringing them in to the home in proper PPE & KN95 masks."

They only take off their mask when they're inside their house. "So I feel like this new variant is in the air," she says.
Chynna still sees the positive side through this ordeal. "I can truly attest to the efficacy of vaccines. (Covid, Flu, Pneumonia), The importance of self-test kits as we were able to address and manage asap, Grateful for the immense support of family and friends who have gone out of their way to help and offer support and prayers, frontliners who make all things possible, and faith that everything is perfectly planned and timed. Thank you Lord for interceding when Salem was screaming for help." She also thanked their doctors.
The last one to get infected was their eldest Stella who got it yesterday, Jan. 18. They were in isolation but when Stella starting getting fever, and her husband Kean soon followed, they had no choice but to break the isolation. "We still have plenty of days to learn and fight through. We humbly ask for your prayers."
She ends the post by reminding everyone, "Please stop saying it is not COVID or a place is COVID-free if you have no basis for those statements. If you do not test, then how can you confirm? Also, can we please make tests available to the public for a price that won’t leave people with no choice but to say.. naubo, nahamugan, napilay, na-allergy at sari-saring na-ano lang.” Ang mahal mag pa RT-PCR!"
Her final reminder, "Boost your immune system.. Laban lang & pray!"
