Bongbong's camp says 11 CamSur mayors commit support to his presidency

At least 11 local chief executives from Camarines Sur, a known bailiwick of Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo, have thrown support to the presidential bid of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

This was bared Wednesday by Marcos Jr.'s camp following the mayors' "private meeting" with the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard bearer in Makati City Monday.

"Narvacan, Ilocos Sur Mayor Luis 'Chavit' Singson, League of Municipalities of the Philippines president, disclosed that the meeting between Marcos and the mayors was held at the house of House Majority Leader Ferdinand Martin Romualdez in Makati," his camp said.

"Singson, who was also present at the said event, bared that the mayors committed to fully support Marcos’ presidential bid," it added.

The attending mayors were Fermin Mabulo of San Fernando town; Migay Ibasco of Bula; Tom Bocago of Sipocot and Melanie Abarientos of Del Gallego.

Also present were Mayors Weny Sabalbero of Cabusao; Nelson Legaspi of Canaman; Anthony Reyes of Milaor; Ed Severo of Calabanga; Chris Lizardo of Minalabac and Leonardo Agos, Gainza; and Boy Franco of Pamplona.

"During the same meeting, the mayors urged Marcos to solve the decades-long insurgency problem in the province should he win in the May 9 presidential elections," Marcos Jr.'s camp said.

The presidential aspirant assured the mayors that he will continue and support the current government's National Task Force to End Local Communist (NTF-ELCAC) to end the country’s insurgency problem. He said he will also allocate more funds to the agency to enable its plans.
