Pasay City police arrest 2,532 violators of IATF protocols

The Pasay City police arrested a total of 2,532 individuals for violating the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) health protocols from Jan. 3 to 16.

Pasay City police chief Col. Cesar Paday-os said police mobility was intensified around the city after the number of COVID-19 cased increased after the holiday season and the National Capital Region (NCR) was placed under the new alert level system.

Paday-os said 2,096 violators were apprehended for not wearing face mask, 207 for not observing the physical distancing, 143 for violation of the curfew hour for minors, and 76 for their failure to show their vaccination cards.

He said the police will continue to patrol all over the city to monitor compliance with the health protocols particularly the city's EMI Habit (Ensure to always wash your hand, Mask is a must and, Implement physical distancing) and to arrest and issue ordinance violation receipt (OVR) to violators.

The City Health Office (CHO) recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cased on Jan. 14 with 371 new cases, bringing the city’s total confirmed cases to 3,626.

The CHO recorded a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases with 1,858 confirmed cases and 1,106 recoveries on Jan. 17.

The city police chief said the “Oplan Sita” will be strictly implemented after Mayor Emi Calixto Rubiano issued an executive order on Jan. 4 restricting the movement of unvaccinated individuals outside their residences unless in buying essential goods.
