Paranaque City LGU distributes home care kits to residents with COVID

Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered the distribution of home care kits to COVID-19 patients and to those who are undergoing home quarantine in the city.

According to Mar Jimenez, Public Information Office (PIO) chief, the home care kits contain a face mask, alcohol, disinfectant, thermometer, oximeter, bar soap, paracetamol, lagundi capsules, and vitamin C.

Jimenez said barangay officials, accompanied by nurses from the Barangay Health Emergency and Response Team (BHERTS) are advising family members on how to take care of their COVID-19 patients and how to avoid the spread of the disease within the family.

The City Health Office (CHO) and City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded 548 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the city’s total confirmed cases to 1,551.

A total of 40,407 or 94.60 percent recoveries were recorded on Jan. 17.

The CHO said the barangays with the highest number of cases are San Isidro with 324, Don Bosco with 230; BF Homes with 219; Merville with 159; San Antonio with 130, and Moonwalk with 102.

Olivarez called on residents to help the city government in bringing down the case of COVID-19 by continuing to follow the basic health protocols.

He said the city government is strictly regulating the movement of unvaccinated individuals in the city while Metro Manila in under Alert Level 3.
