Alden Richards is fast proving himself a man of many hats.

Aside from being an actor, singer, and model, he is now also producer.

He's behind his own upcoming event titled "FORWARD: Meet Richard R. Faulkerson, Jr." set on Jan. 30, 8 p.m.

The documentary concert is about his life and showbiz journey, retelling important milestones through music and performances leading to the launch of his own foundation.

Note that Alden's AR Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to raise and grant funds for scholars, providing them financial resources.

All proceeds from the documentary concert will go straight to the foundation.

During a recent press conference, Alden talked about his new journey as a producer.

"Ngayon ko na realize iba yung bigat pag ikaw mismo ung nag-produce ng sarili mong project," he told the press.

"I mean when I was doing concerts before, mostly produced with GMA, sobrang ibang-iba yung experiences."

According to him, he was hands-on about his upcoming documentary concert.

"From top to bottom, when it comes to performances, content, requirements especially po sa technical, people behind the concert up to finances, nandun po ako," he shared.

"It's a very liberating experience to be able to be a producer with this project. Parang mas naging doble yung effort. Alam ko yung pupuntahan ng lahat ng pinagbentahan... mapupunta sa mga scholars natin."

So what did he learn as a producer?

"Number one, hindi siya madali. It's not easy pero it really goes to show na if you have good people behind you; really great mentors behind you, you can never go wrong with these people. And these people just want to see you fly. I'm very blessed with those kinds of people in my circle," he said.

"Being a producer/performer in this concert, with a purpose, parang victory naming lahat ito. It's a collective victory for everyone. Hindi lang ito sa akin. Hindi lang ito for the foundation."

He thinks his documentary concert is the beginning of a legacy.

"Na in their lifetime, hindi na nila makakalimutan. And that's the only thing I can give them na hindi mananakaw," he added. I'm really an advocate for education and this is the best platform that I have to promote that advocacy."

On the other hand, Alden related that being a producer also taught him to be more responsible.

"Mas dumoble po yun kasi ang laki po ng requirements kapag ikaw nagproduce at ikaw din ang performer sa isang show. Kasi hindi lang yung mga gagawin mong performances yung iintindihin mo," he said, adding that from start to finish, he was busy checking the concept, venue, requirements, employee's salary up to the last detail.

"Parang detail by detail, nandun po ako. Present po ako dun. So mahirap po siya pero ito po yung masayang mahirap," he said. "Parang as days go by na binubuo po namin yung show, mas malaki po yung na-a-ambag sa pagkatao ko kasi ang daming na e-experince na bago na hindi ko pa nararanasan before."

He takes his new milestone as a "huge achievement."

"At napakalaking discovery na masaya pala siya," he added.

More than anything, he's happy that his upcoming event is with a "purpose."

Alden said he first thought of making a concert to promote his foundation.

"The concert will give deeper meaning sa AR Foundation," he related. "Kasi it will tell a lot of stories about my childhood. Ano yung mga pinagdaanan ko why I came up with foundation. Bakit ako tumutulong. Why I'm sending kids to school. Bakit nangyayari ang lahat ng yun it's because of that purpose. Para at least when we launch the foundation, we have a deeper meaning."

"Gusto kong mangyaring message to people who will watch: Ah kaya pala nagkaroon ng foundation si Alden is because of the experiences na mapapanuod nila sa docu-concert."

He promised that AR Foundation will be not limited to sending kids to school.

"May iba pang projects i-na-eye for the next couple of years. Very happy talaga ako sa support ng fans. They know this is for a good cause."

Note that the show sold out over the weekend.

But they already opened up new ticket slots to accommodate more fans.
