Bongbong's HQ to resume operations on Monday

Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s headquarters in Mandaluyong City will resume its operations on Monday, Jan. 17, following a two-week closure due to detection of COVID-19 infections among its staff members.

Lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.'s spokesman, said Sunday that there will still be no walk-in guests, non-staff and volunteers of parallel groups will be allowed entry "for now until further notice."

Staff who will also yield negative COVID-19 test results in their RT-PCR tests will only be able to enter the headquarters.

On January 3, Marcos Jr.'s headquarters was shut down after 30 staff tested positive for COVID-19.

It was extended on January 9 after 38 more yielded positive test results, reaching the total number of infections to 68.

"We assure the public that professionals have thoroughly cleaned our offices. A strict health protocol is also in place to ensure that everyone working in the facility is safe," Rodriguez said.

"We also wish to thank everyone who prayed for and posted messages of support to our staffers and the entire UniTeam. It lifted our spirits during that time. Thank you po sa inyong lahat (to all of you)," he added.

Rodriguez was among those who tested positive for COVID-19. His team said he had already recovered without any complications.
