An earthquake with a magnitude measuring 3.5 hit Aurora around 11:57 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The epicenter of the quake was traced seven kilometers northeast of Casiguran, Aurora. It was tectonic in origin, which means that it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
In its initial bulletin issued, Phivolcs said that no damage and aftershocks are expected after this quake.
