Young prospect Kevier, veteran Eson complete Blacklist lineup

Blacklist International is adding both youth and experience with its last two members in Kent Xavier "KEVIER" Lopez and the returning Mark Jayson "ESON" Gerardo to complete its cast for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 9.

The two players will join the M3 World Championship trio of Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap and Salic “Hadji” Imam as the two-time MPL PH champions go for a shot at history with an unprecedented three-peat in Season 9.

Eson and Kevier have huge shoes to fill after star duo Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario decided to sit out Season 9.

“Welcome back to hook city. The one and only Uncle Eson Esports is back, and he's here to help our three MVPs defend our crown,” said Blacklist in an announcement.

This marked the return of Eson to the Blacklist main five after playing as a sixth-man in Season 8 where he only saw action in the squad’s last game in the regular season and the upper bracket match against Omega Esports.

Blacklist is leaning on the eight-season veteran to return to his old-deadly form and provide the squad the leadership it needs for its title-retention bid in S9.

Also out to carve his name in the pro scene is Kevier who was earlier teased by OhmyV33nus in one of his streams. The 15-year-old jungler and former top PH Ling and Lancelot user is expected to give Blacklist new dimensions in Season 9 given his assassin-dominant hero pool – something that was rarely seen with Blacklist as Wise preferred fast-farming heroes like Aldous and Barats.

“Agents, welcome Kent Xavier "KEVIER" Lopez, the newest addition to the Blacklist International MLBB team. The youngest player in the MPL this season, we believe Kevier is a perfect fit for the squad,” said Blacklist in a separate post.

Multi-titled coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza will still be at the helm for the defending champions who were coming off a splendid 2021 that saw them compete in five Grand Finals and win three championships including the MPL PH S7 and S8 titles and M3 World Championship.
