Valenzuela LGU releases updated guidelines on COVID-19 quarantine time

The Valenzuela City government released updated guidelines on quarantine periods for individuals infected with COVID-19 and those who are experiencing symptoms of the disease.

Starting Saturday, Jan. 15, fully vaccinated resident and health workers who are asymptomatic, probable cases, or with mild symptoms should be placed under quarantine for seven days, while those who experience moderate symptoms should be isolated for 10 days.

The local government said that unvaccinated individuals and those inoculated only with their first doses should be quarantined for 10 days.

A 21-day isolation period is required for severe or critical cases and immunocompromised residents (both vaccinated and unvaccinated).

The quarantine period of asymptomatic health workers and residents who contacted with COVID-19 patients will be five days for those fully vaccinated and 14 days for partially inoculated or unvaccinated (with a 14-day continued symptom monitoring) for residents.

The city government said that isolation begins the day after the patients' swab test and it can be shortened for health workers with booster shots.

It also reminded the residents who underwent home quarantine to get a "Certificate of Quarantine Completion" at the office of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

They should bring a valid government-issued identification card, their self-monitoring sheets and their Barangay Health and Emergency Response Team (BHERT) monitoring sheets.
