P1-M shabu seized in Navotas buy-bust

Police and anti-narcotics agents seized around P1 million worth of suspected shabu from three suspects in a buy-bust operation in Navotas City on Thursday, Jan. 13

Northern Police District (NPD) director Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. identified the arrested suspects as Noraima Esmail, 32; Ma. Clarise Certeza, 32; and Erickson Verona, 36, all residents of Tondo, Manila.

The drug bust was conducted by members of the Navotas City Police Station (CPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The suspects were nabbed at 11:30 p.m. after they sold shabu to undercover operatives who posed as buyers on Radial Road 10 in Barangay North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN) in Navotas City.

Police confiscated 158 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,074,400, the buy-bust money, a transparent container, a gray body bag, a small notebook, and a cellphone.

The suspected shabu was taken to the NPD Crime Laboratory Office in Caloocan City for further analysis.

The suspects are now in the custody of the Navotas CPS, pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”, police said.
