Pasay City gov't distributes cash aid, food packs to COVID patients

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the distribution of cash assistance and food packs to residents afflicted with coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Rubiano, who is recovering from COVID-19, announced in a video message that the city government prepared a P140-million emergency cash subsidy to be distributed to residents affected by the pandemic.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Angie Roa-Yu said the 280,000 individuals who will be receiving emergency cash subsidy are COVID-19 survivors, low-income and economically displaced workers, persons with disability, solo parents, senior citizens, and beneficiaries of 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program).

Yu said the other beneficiaries of the cash subsidy are members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA), Pedicab Operators and Drivers Association (PODA), and Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (JODA).

The mayor also reiterated her call on residents to get the jab against the virus. She also advised the fully vaccinated individuals to get their booster after three months.

Rubiano told them to follow the stay-at-home guidelines and observe the EMI habit (ensure to always wash your hand, face mask is a must, and implement physical distancing).

She said the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded 330 new cases, bringing the city’s confirmed cases to 3,446 on Jan 1
