The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is conducting its own investigation on the killing of one of its personnel who was shot in Pangasinan.
PCG spokesperson Comm. Armand Balilo said Apprentice Seaman (ASN) Angelo V. Martinez of the PCG District Southern Tagalog was shot dead by an unidentified gunman on Tuesday, Jan. 11, in Barangay Paitan in Sual town.

The victim was having a conversation with the suspect before he was shot on his left mouth.
A concerned citizen spotted the victim’s body lying beside his motorcycle and immediately reported the incident to the nearest police station. The witness initially thought the victim was involved in a vehicular, but police recovered evidence of the shooting.
PCG District Southern Tagalog Commander, CG Commodore Genito B. Basilio expressed his sincere condolences to the family of Martinez, whom he remembered as a dependable staff.

“He will not be able to achieve his dreams and aspirations anymore as he was ruthlessly slayed by a still unknown gunman,” Basilio.
Police recovered two cartridges of caliber 9mm in the area.
