Pasay City conducts house-to-house symptoms checking vs COVID

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the house-to-house symptom checking in the city’s 201 barangays amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Rubiano’s chief of staff, Peter Pardo, said aside from the house-to-house symptoms checking, the city government also intensified its contact tracing in a bid to stop the spread of the virus in the city.

Pardo said based on the report of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), a total of 509 new cases of COVID-19 was recorded on Jan. 12, bringing the total to 3,268 confirmed cases.

He also said Rubiano ordered the police to conduct “Oplan Sita” and to remind all those who are not wearing face masks and observing the physical distancing about the threat of COVID-19.

He added that the city government will continue to conduct vaccinations from Monday to Sunday and encouraged the unvaccinated to get the jabs to protect them from the virus.

Pardo said the city government placed 119 barangays with 1,144 houses under local enhance community quarantine on Jan. 11.

He added they also recorded 10 children aged 11 months old who contracted COVID-19; 153 for aged 1 to 12 years old, and 67 for aged 13 to 17 years old.
