Duque receives Sinovac booster shot, urges public to get boosted

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III said he recently received his coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine booster shot.
“Yes, I had mine three weeks ago,” said Duque in a forum on Wednesday, Jan. 12.
It was reported last April 23, 2021 that the Health chief was inoculated with the vaccine made by China’s Sinovac Biotech. His booster shot was also the Sinovac vaccine, said Duque.
“Sinovac din ako. Lahat okay yan... Lahat ng bakuna natin okay (I also got the Sinovac. All vaccines are okay),” he said.
Duque also encouraged all eligible Filipinos who completed their primary vacciantion series to avail their booster shots to have another layer of protection against COVID-19.
“After three months na matapos ang ikalawang dose of your primary series, magpa-booster na po kayo sa lalong madaling panahon dahil malaki po ang dagdag proteksyon taglay ng ating mga bakuna (Three months after receiving your second dose of your primary series, get your booster shot as soon as possible because our vaccines provide extra protection),” he said.
