100 homes destroyed in QC fire

Around 100 houses were destroyed by a fire that hit Phase 1, Purok 12, Barangay Payatas, in Quezon City on Monday night, Jan. 10.

One resident, identified as Carlos Tapas, 32, sustained minor injuries.

The blaze was raised to first alarm at around 6:08 p.m. and to second alarm at 6:23 p.m., the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Public Information Office said.

It was declared under control at around 7:53 p.m. and fire out at around 8:09 p.m.

The BFP said the estimated damage to properties was P100,000.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire which was reported to have started from the third floor of a building in the area.
