Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the strict implementation of curfew – from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. -- for minors aged 17 and below amid the increasing COVID-19 cases in the city.
Rubiano said the police and barangay officials were told to conduct routine patrol to ensure that no minors will be found loitering around the city during the curfew hours.
She also said the city government is also encouraging individuals to limit their movements outside their homes. Businesses were also asked to adopt work-from-home arrangements.
The mayor ordered the unvaccinated individuals regardless of their age to stay at home unless they are obtaining essential goods and services.
Rubiano said only vaccinated individuals are allowed outside for non-essential reasons such as dining, shopping and entering cinemas provided they can present vaccine cards and valid IDs prior to entry to concerned establishments.
She told residents to follow the existing order of the city government under the new alert level system, specifically now it has recorded a total of 1,750 confirmed cases and 452 new cases of COVID-19 on Jan 8.
The mayor also placed 64 of the 201 barangays under granular lockdowns or local enhanced community quarantine (LECQ) due to COVID-19 cases.
Rubiano said two communities in the city recorded high number of cases. These are Barangay 183 with 232 and Barangay 201 with 133.
