Cheng, Sabete, Cruz return to Petro Gazz Angels

The Petro Gazz Angels will be reuniting with Djanel Cheng, Jonah Sabete and Cienne Cruz for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League season.

The team announced this on social media Monday as it hopes to boost their lineup for the Open Conference tentatively set next month.

“Reunited and ready to work it out for our refueled roster!” the post read.

“Welcome back, Angels! Let’s do this!”

Cheng and Sabete played for the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors before the squad decided to take a leave of absence this season due to the pandemic.

They were part of the original Petro Gazz squad.

Cruz, meanwhile, last played for the Angels in 2019. She also won Best Libero in the 2018 Open Conference.

Petro Gazz is also expected to announce five new signings this week.

The Angels have been into the Top 3 for the past three conferences, winning the title in the 2019 Reinforced Conference and second in the 2019 Open Conference.

They finished third in last year’s Open Conference held under a tournament bubble setup in Ilocos Norte.
