The Department of Tourism (DOT) vowed to advance the promotion of the Filipino language in all forms of public services.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco celebrated the recognition of Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) to DOT as the top implementer of Filipino vernacular in advancing their programs and adherence to the Filipino people.
The KWF recognized the DOT for excellence in using Filipino as the language of public service.
According to the KWF, this year’s campaign focuses on using the Filipino language on social media platforms by agencies and local government units (LGUs) at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
DOT was re-awarded the Seal of Excellence in Public Service for promoting the KWF goal to extend and strengthen the use of the Filipino language in serving the people.
The KWF Seal of Excellence in Public Service is a recognition given to government agencies and local government units complying with the implementation of Executive Order Number 335.
The DOT on Friday, Sept. 30, also came up with an occasional press statement written in Tagalog to exemplarily acknowledge the recognition of KWF.
“Ang Kagawaran ng Turismo ay lubos na sumusuporta at nakikiisa sa layunin ng KWF na palawigin at pagtibayin ang paggamit ng wikang Filipino sa paglilingkod sa bayan (The Department of Tourism fully supports and cooperates with KWF's goal to extend and strengthen the use of the Filipino language in serving the people,” the statement read.
“Ang Kagawaran ng Turismo, sa pamumuno ni Kalihim Christina Garcia Frasco, ay taos pusong nagpapasalamat sa Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) sa muling paggawad nito sa institusyon ng Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko Antas II (The Department of Tourism, under the leadership of Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, sincerely thanks the KWF for re-awarding the institution the Seal of Excellence in Public Service Level II),” it added.
