Vietnam envoy pays courtesy visit to Mayor Honey


The Ambassador of Vietnam to the Philippines Hoang Huy Chung paid a courtesy visit to Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when he visited the capital city.

During the courtesy visit, Chung expressed his appreciation to the establishment of the bust of Former President and Father of Vietnamese Independence Ho Chi Minh in Intramuros.

It was Chung's first time to visit the City of Manila.

Lacuna and Chung also shared their experiences in both countries.

The local chief executive also recalled her fascination with motorcycles in Vietnam during her personal visit a few years back.

Chung, meanwhile, also took the opportunity to thank Filipino English teachers in Vietnam who gave quality education to Vietnamese children in the country.

"I wish you could spend some days in Vietnam, and I hope you could visit other cities in our country," said the ambassador as he invited the mayor to visit his country.

Chung also called on Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto on Wednesday.

He commended Nieto and the City Council for unanimously approving the renewal of the sister city agreement between Ho Chi Minh and the City of Manila.
