Supreme Actress Lovi Poe is on Cloud 9 these days. This after she received glowing reviews for her portrayal of Iris Castillo-del Rosario in the Philippine adaptation of “Flower of Evil”.
The series was Lovi’s first entry in the suspense - mystery and action genre. “At least for the duration of this series, I fulfilled my dream of being an Action Queen," says Lovi.
“The people on our set started calling me LPJ or DA Queen in reference to my father, FPJ, and I really enjoyed having that illusion, even if it’s just for a short moment," the actress confessed.
Indeed, as a police detective, Lovi was required to do a lot of action sequences, fight scenes, and chase scenes, and instead of a purse, her accessory this time was a handgun. “I’m really proud of our show, and I am extremely grateful for having the best production staff, the best directors, and a wonderful cast," admits Lovi.
“I loved working with all my co-actors in the show because they were extremely dedicated to the project, Piolo Pascual, my leading man, was very supportive and encouraging, and so were Paulo Avelino, JC De Vera and the rest of the cast," said the actress.
So what’s next for Lovi?
Once again, the actress will show another side of her personality with her musical skills, this time, to our fellow kababayans in the United States, as she takes part in “ASAP Natin To” to be staged at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Nov. 5.
