K-pop group Golden Child member suffers facial fracture after being hit with golf club
A member of K-pop boy band Golden Child suffered a facial fracture after being hit with a golf club in South Korea on Sept. 28.
Choi Bomin, 22, was taken to the hospital and will undergo surgery for the facial fracture, or broken bone in the face.

Woollim Entertainment, Golden Child’s agency, announced Bomin’s condition on Sept. 29.
“First, we would like to share some sudden and unfortunate news to the fans who have always shown their love and support for Golden Child,” it said, according to SBS News.
It added, “On the afternoon of September 28, Bomin was hit in the face with a wood golf club that another person was using during a practice session.”
“We immediately proceeded Bomin with emergency treatment and a detailed examination. According to the medical staff's diagnosis, surgery was recommended for his facial fracture, and we are currently coordinating a date for the surgery,” the agency said.
According to Woollim, “Following the doctor's recommendation that Bomin should undergo rehabilitation following the surgery, he will focus on receiving treatment for the time being. Therefore, it will be difficult for him to participate in Golden Child's schedule for a while, and we will inform you of his return to activities in the future.”
“Again, we would like to apologize for causing concern to many fans who have worried over this sudden news. We will do our best to make Bomin treatment and health our top priority to help him recover. Thank you,” it said.
Golden Child will be performing at the 4th Asia Contents Awards to be held in Busan in South Korea on Oct. 8.
They will also perform in the Philippines on Oct. 21.
