Solon's measure cites 'heroism, bravery' of 5 Bulacan rescuers
Bulacan 6th district Rep. Salvador Pleyto Sr. has filed a resolution expressing the "profound sympathy and sincerest condolences" of the House of Representatives over the deaths of the five rescuers in Bulacan who lost their lives in the line of duty amid the onslaught of typhoon "Karding".

A copy of House Resolution (HR) No. 414 that was acquired by the Manila Bulletin cites the "heroism and bravery" of the fatalities, namely Narciso Calayag, Jerson Resurreccion, Marvy Bartolome, George Agustin, and Troy Justin Agusin.
All five are rescue personnel of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan.
"The heroism and bravery showed by the five PDRRMO rescue personnel in the performance of their duty is an admirable act worthy of praise and commendation," Pleyto said in his one-page resolution.
The rescuers met their untimely end in a flash flood in Barangay Camias, San Miguel, Bulacan on Sunday night, Sept. 25.
The PDRRMO members were on their way to a rescue mission when their rescue truck broke down. In order to continue their mission, the rescuers opted to use a boat instead.
But as they were drifting through the flood waters, a wall collapsed and hit them. They were subsequently washed away by the flood, killing them in the process.
If and when adopted by the House plenary, the Pleyto resolution, rather copies of it, will be given to the bereaved families of the heroic rescuers.
