A barangay in Muntinlupa is giving rice as an incentive to residents to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
Barangay Putatan, headed by Chairman Danny Teves, launched the “Ayuda sa Bakuna” to encourage people to receive their vaccines. Each barangay resident will receive five kilos of rice after they get vaccinated.

At a recent vaccination in Lakeview, 348 vaccinated Putatan residents received five kilos of rice each.
The “Ayuda sa Bakuna” will be held until Oct. 8 in cooperation with the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO).
According to Dr. Juancho Bunyi, CHO chief, the incentive will be a big help to urge people in the barangays to get vaccinated.
To be eligible under the program, one must be a Putatan resident and must have received the Covid-19 vaccine including the first and second doses, and booster shots between Sept. 15 and Oct. 8.
The Putatan Health Center posted on Facebook that the requirements are government-issued ID or certificate of residency, vaccination record, and claim stub issued by the health center focal person.
The next “Ayuda sa Bakuna” will be held on Sept. 28 and 29 at the Putatan barangay hall, and Sept. 30 in Esporlas Itaas in Putatan.
The Muntinlupa City government, headed by Mayor Ruffy Biazon, is supporting the Department of Health’s “Sa Booster, PinasLakas” campaign which aims to increase the number of vaccine recipients in the first 100 days of the Marcos administration.
