Korean stars Kwon Yul, Han Seonhwa to host closing ceremony of Busan Int’l Film Festival 


Korean stars Kwon Yul and Han Seonhwa will be the hosts of the closing ceremony of the 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which will be held from Oct. 5 to 14 in the City of Busan in South Korea.

The closing ceremony will be held on Oct. 14, which will also have a red carpet and awarding ceremonies and screen the closing film “A Man” by director Ishikawa Kei.

The BIFF earlier revealed that Korean stars Ryu Jun-yeol of “Reply 1988” and Jeon Yeo-bin of “Vincenzo” will be the hosts of the opening ceremony on Oct. 5 at the Busan Cinema Center.

Kwon Yul has appeared in the film “Roaring Currents: The Road of the Admiral” and the drama “The King: Eternal Monarch.”

He participated in the BIFF in 2014 and 2018 through “The Admiral: Roaring Currents” and “Champion.”

“It’s an honor to be able to enjoy the finale of the festival with the audience as host of the closing ceremony. As it is the largest cinematic ceremony in Asia, I will do my best to provide an appropriate finish to the festival,” he said.

Actress Han Seonhwa said, “Thank you for inviting me as the host for the closing ceremony on my first visit to the Busan International Film Festival. I will do my best to ensure that the 27th Busan International Film Festival can have a grand finale with the participating film professionals and audience.”

She has appeared in the films “Cinema Street,” “A Letter from Kyoto” and “When Winter Comes.”
