PAGASA lifts all wind signals as typhoon Karding moves away from PH landmass

All Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) have been lifted by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) moves away from the country’s landmass.

In its latest bulletin issued as of 5 p.m., PAGASA said typhoon Karding slightly intensified while moving over the West Philippine Sea. As of 4 p.m., it was spotted 425 kilometers (km) west of Dagupan City in Pangasinan.

Karding has maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is moving westward at 30 kph.

All wind signals in the country have already been lifted, but the state weather bureau warned of occasional rains that may still persist in the western sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas due to the combined effects of Karding and the southwest monsoon, locally called “habagat.”

“Karding will continue moving its westward track towards Vietnam. On the track forecast, it will exit the Philippine area of responsibility ,” said PAGASA on Monday afternoon.
