The family of a public school teacher in Parañaque City, who went missing on Sept. 21, is seeking police help to locate her.
Amelia Montemayor, 24, a high school teacher at San Isidro High School, was seen on CCTV footage leaving the school at around 6:55 p.m.
Montemayor, a resident of Gen. Trias, Cavite, has been temporarily staying at the house of her cousin, Melody Rosario, in El Puentebello Subdivision, Fourth Estate, San Antonio, Parañaque.
In a phone interview, Amelia’s brother Jomari said his mother Aurelia received a text message from the teacher informing her that she was on her way home.
Jomari said their cousin told them the next day that Amelia failed to return home from school.
Alarmed over the situation, he posted on his Facebook page the disappearance of his sister.
The brother also said they requested the authorities to review the CCTV cameras near the school. They found out that the teacher was still able to reach the tricycle terminal for a ride toward the highway where she would take a passenger jeepney on going home.
Jomari said they tried to call Amelia through her cellular phone but it was already unattended, prompting him to seek police assistance.
He said while at the police station, a policeman told him that Amelia might have been kidnapped.
The brother added that while he was reporting the incident to the police, an unidentified man called up the mobile numbers of his mother.
Jomari said the unidentified caller with cellular number 0917548768 33 had told them that Amelia had eloped.
He also revealed that Amelia started working at San Isidro High School just three months ago.
