Marcos tackles peace building, food security with ex-PM Tony Blair, Cargill executives


NEW YORK, USA — President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is staying focused on his objective of attaining food sovereignty as he discussed food security with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and senior executives of American global food corporation Cargill.

He met the two entities in separate meetings on Wednesday, September 21 (New York time).

In a Facebook post, the President said he and Blair "explored concrete ways" to address priority issues in the global economy, such as food security, climate action, and trade.

The two leaders also tackled the peace process in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Blair is a former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and is the current Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute For Global Change.

Meanwhile, Marcos said he had an "enlightening meeting" with the executives of American global food corporation Cargill.

"We discussed how to attain food security and self-sufficiency and explored ways to boost agricultural productivity in the Philippines," he said.
