The DPWH-Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) said the construction has reached 65 percent in actual accomplishment.

Officer-in-Charge (OIC) District Engineer Mariano B. Malupeng said the structure will serve as a barrier from raging waters to prevent soil erosion, and landslides during storm or ordinary rains.

The facility will also serve as a recreational site for the constituents of Barangay Natappian.

With a budget of P91.5 million, the flood control project involves 390-linear meter with 200-millimeter-thick concrete slope, steel sheet piles and spur dikes.
