Cedric Lee on Vhong Navarro: 'He can't hide anymore'

Cedric Lee, the ex-boyfriend of Vina Morales and a good friend of Deniece Cornejo, recently issued a reaction to the legal cases filed in court against Vhong Navarro.

In a statement sent to ABS-CBN News, the businessman said the TV host-actor-dancer must face all the charges against him, just like what he and Deniece Cornejo did some years ago.

"I feel slightly vindicated because finally we will have our day in court after almost 9 years," Cedric said.

Cedric added: "This serial rapist will finally be made to answer for all the women he raped. He can't hide anymore  behind De Lima who's now in jail, or Calvento who's now dead, or ABS who lost its franchise. His modus operandi of being a serial rapist will now be exposed."

Recall that in 2018 Deniece, Cedric, and another co-accused were found "guilty" in the grave coercion case filed in court against them by Vhong's lawyers.

As to why he received the arrest warrant in behalf of Deniece, Cedric explained his friend is out of town but has given him authorization.

Meanwhile, in a press statement published Sept. 20 by the National Bureau of Investigation on their social media account, they shared that Vhong "surrendered" to the agency last Sept. 19.

"Through his legal counsel, Vhong Navarro coordinated with the NBI expressing his intent to voluntarily surrender in relation to the Warrant of Arrest issued against him for Acts of Lasciviousness by the Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 116, Taguig City on September 15, 2022. The bail for the said case was fixed at Php 36,000.00," they wrote.

However, in the afternoon of the same day, another warrant of arrest for rape, with no bail recommended, was issued against Vhong by the Taguig City Regional Trial Court.

Vhon has since been turned over to NBI-Security and Management Section (NBI-SMS) for detention.

On the other hand, Vhong's "It's Showtime" and The Streetboys families have expressed support for him.
