With CJ Gesmundo abroad, Senior Justice Leonen is acting Chief Justice

Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen is acting Chief Justice until Sept. 27 with the official travel to Spain and the Portuguese Republic of Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo.

Chief Justice Gesmundo left the Philippines last Sept. 15 to attend conferences, seminars and partnership meetings in the two foreign countries on invitation by the Unibersidad de Malaga in Spain.

Details of the conferences, seminars and partnership meeting were not available as of posting.

It was learned that Gesmundo is with SC Associate Justice Mario V. Lopez and other SC officials, and officials of the Philippine Judicial Academy PhilJA, the SC’s education arm.
