Showbiz friends of comedian-actor Vhong Navarro have showered him with love and support.
In an episode of "It's Showtime" on Tuesday, Sept. 20, support for Vhong poured in.
Jhong Hilario, brother of Vhong, said: “Kuys Vhong, nandito lang kami, kapit lang. We love you, Kuys Vhong.”
Vice Ganda suggested to co-hosts Ryan Bang, Jackie Gonzaga, Teddy Corpuz, Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, Jhong, and Jugs Jugueta for a group hug.
"Yes, Kuys Vhong, mag-group hug tayo para kay Vhong,” Vice said. “I love you, Vhong. We will all be praying for you Vhong! We love you.”
Kim and Ryan also echoed the same support.
Vhong's Streetboys family also extended support by establishing the "We Stand With Vhong Navarro" movement with the hashtags: "#WeBelieveVhong" and "#JusticeForVhong."
On their official Facebook page, they wrote: "Dear Friends of the The Streetboys Let’s all share this thread to show our support to brother Vhong Navarro. We need your help na mabigyan sya ng hustisya. Matagal namin kakilala si Vhong at naniniwala kaming buong grupo na sya ay inosente."
"Please use this photo to show our support. Paki- repost sa wall or gawin nyong profile picture kayo na po ang bahala. Kailangn nya ang ating mga dasal at suporta. Magsama sama tayong magdasal na mabigyan ng hustisya ang nangyari sa ating pinakakamamahal na kaibigan," they added.
"Taos puso kami nagpapasalamat in advance sa inyong mga walang sawang pagmamahal. Mabuhay kayong lahat. And God be with you and your family. Respectfully yours, THE STREETBOYS FAMILY #webelievevhong #justiceforvhong."
Multi-awarded director Chito Roño was among those who shared the post of the Filipino boy group formed in the 1990s.
The camp of Vhong said that they will file a petition for bail for his release from detention in connection with the rape case filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.
On Sept. 19, Vhong surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding a warrant of arrest issued by the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 116 for the case of acts of lasciviousness. His bail was set at P36,000.
However, on the afternoon of Sept. 19, the Taguig RTC Branch 69 issued a warrant of arrest without bail for rape against Vhong.
