BACOLOD CITY – A man jailed for illegal gambling and linked to robbery and motorcycle theft was gunned down in Purok Nangka, Barangay 3 here on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Police identified the victim as Raymund Apelledo, 29, of Barangay 3.
Capt. Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said that Apelledo left their house after receiving a call from someone.
Pendon said Apelledo was shot by an unidentified person when he was already in the area.
Police believe that more than one perpetrator committed the crime as 21 fired bullets of a suspected .9mm caliber firearm were recovered from the scene.
Pendon said the victim was jailed in 2017 and was released four years later. He was allegedly linked to some robbery and motornapping incidents here, according to Pendon.
Police are looking into a possibility that the killing may be due to a misunderstanding with the victim’s group in their illegal activities.
