Thai pop singer Sorn becomes 'Nirvana Girl' in new single

Pop singer Sorn released her latest song “Nirvana Girl,” her fourth digital single which she said is a way of discovering her true self.

“Nirvana Girl,” released under Wild Group and Universal Music Singapore, features Sorn’s former K-pop girl group CLC member Yeeun, the first time they got reunited for a track since 2020. Former CLC member Seungyeon choreographed the dance for the song’s chorus.

“Of all the songs I’ve done so far, I would say this song reflects me the most,” said Sorn in a behind-the-scenes filming of the music video for “Nirvana Girl.”

According to Yeeun, “I got to do this with Sorn after a long time so it was a lot of fun.”

Sorn said they recorded the song in Singapore and filmed the music video in South Korea.

With lyrics that allude to the spiritual in her pursuit of freedom and enlightenment, Sorn said the meaning of “Nirvana Girl” is shaking off the labels she used to let define her.

After winning on tvN’s “K-Pop Star Hunt,” Sorn moved from Bangkok to Seoul at age 15 where she trained and debuted in CLC in 2015.

Last year, she parted with CLC and Cube Entertainment, and signed up with management company Wild Group for her solo career.

Her debut single “Sharp Objects” garnered millions of streams and topped iTunes charts in numerous countries.
