Omega displays comeback genes anew, shoves TNC on brink of elimination

Omega Esports displayed its signature comeback genes and authored another reverse sweep, this time against a desperate TNC Pro Team side, 2-1, in the MPL Philippine Season 10 at the ICITE Auditorium in Libis, Quezon City on Sunday, Sept. 18.

A sorry Game 1 loss seemed to have poked the beast inside Omega and got its bearings going in the last two games to pull off the reversal that shoved TNC on brink of elimination.

After getting completely shut down in the series opener, Duane “Kelra” Pillas got his hands on his signature Beatrix pick and spearheaded a huge Game 2 fight back for Omega. Christian “Raizen” Sumagui also bounced back from a subpar showing in Game 1 by dictating the jungle battle against Daniel “SDzyz” Chuu.

With the two leading the charge, Omega made quick work of TNC in the equalizing 8-5 Game 2 win in just 12 minutes of play.

Kelra finished with an impeccable 3-0-3 line while Raizen added a 2-0-4 KDA on the Balmond pick.

TNC, though, refused to go down without a fight as it still took the lead 20 minutes in in the deciding Game 3. However, a well executed Lord dance for Omega turned things around despite Raizen’s Balmond getting picked off early in the skirmish as Kiel “Kielvj” Hernandez still managed to complete the clutch steal of the crucial objective.

Omega then went on to finish the match on that Lord push, closing out the series with a 7-9 come-from-behind win.

The opening game win allowed TNC to still stay in contention for the playoff spot but the loss just made it harder for the team to recover from the cellar of the standings.

TNC, which will be playing the top three teams so far in the tournament in its final assignments, will have to sweep its remaining schedule and hope that both Bren Esports and Nexplay Evos lose all of their remaining matches to advance to the next round of the tournament.
