K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE electrifies crowd in first Manila concert 


K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE held their first solo concert in Manila and their Filipino fans were there to support them.

(G)I-DLE’s Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua met Filipino Neverland (the group’s fans) at the “2022 (G)I-DLE World Tour: Just Me ( )I-DLE” in Manila held at the New Frontier Theater on Sept. 11.

Miyeon said they were glad to finally be in Manila this year.

Minnie said they had their first solo concert “I-Land: Who Am I” in July 2020. Due to the pandemic, it was held online.

“It’s so sad that we could not meet you guys in person, that is why I feel more excited today,” said Soyeon.

“And we always wanted to see our Neverland in Manila,” said Minnie.

“I love you guys so much,” said Yuqi.

At the Manila concert, (G)I-DLE performed about 21 songs. These were “Oh My God, “Villain Dies,” “Latata,” “Blow Your Mind,” Senorita,” “DUMDi DUMDi,” “Luv U,” “Hann (Alone in Winter),” “Hann,” “Moon,” “Already,” “Hwaa,” “Lion,” “Liar,” “Never Stop Me,” “Uh-oh,” “My Bag,” “Pop/Stars,” “Tomboy,” “I’m the Trend” and “Polaroid.”

(G)I-DLE started their world tour with a three-day concert in Seoul in June. In July and August, they embarked on their concert tour in the US in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York.

They went to Chile and Mexico in August before heading to Asia with stops in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Tokyo.

Throughout the show, (G)I-DLE impressed the audience with their choreography and music. The fans kept cheering and chanting.

In the end, (G)I-DLE thanked Filipino fans for coming to the concert.

“Thank you for coming today. I am so impressed with your energy. I promise that I will show you a better stage next time,” said Shuhua.

Yuqi said, “Manila! I can’t believe we’re here. And I hope tonight can be the best memory of this year. Thank you for supporting us. And thank you for loving us. We will work harder and maybe next time we’ll be more ‘multicolor’ and bring more good songs and bring more good stages next time.”

According to Soyeon, “It was a really great time to say great time to be with you Manila Neverland. Thank you for loving us from far away. We will be back soon so please wait for us.”

“I am so happy to have our concert in Manila. Thank you so much for being with us and I will take this memory forever. I love you, Manila!” said Miyeon.

“Thank you so much for coming today. We had so much fun and we hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you so much again for your love and support,” said Minnie.

Soyeon added, “We are so happy today. Thank you for coming.”

(G)I-DLE posted on Instagram, “Thanks to Neverland in Manila, we have another happy memory. Today's chemistry is 100 points! No, 1,000 points.”

After the Manila concert, Cube Entertainment announced that (G)I-DLE will be coming back next month with their fifth mini-album titled “I Love.”

This will be (G)I-DLE next project after finishing their world tour in 18 cities in 10 countries.

According to the agency, the song from the album will be released on Oct. 17 while the album will be out on Oct. 18.

“We would appreciate Neverland’s love and support,” Cube Entertainment said.
