Police form special investigation team to go after killers of 3 young Iloilo bizmen


ILOILO CITY – Police have formed a dedicated group to solve the fatal shooting of three young businessmen in Estancia, Iloilo on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 director, has ordered the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) “Palibosfer” (Parohinog-Libao-Bosque and Fernandes) headed by Col. Adrian Acollador, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), to run after the assailants of John Paul “JP” Bosque, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes, and Mark Clarence Libao.

“The incident in Estancia is a significant case and needs immediate results. That is why we have this SITG,” Francisco said.

“The police of Western Visayas assure the family of the victims that we will do our best and exert all efforts to immediately resolve the incident, we will make sure to bring justice to them,” added Francisco.

The 19-man SITG is under the supervision of Col. Martin Defensor Jr., PRO-6 deputy regional director for operations.

The SITG will work with other units of the Philippine National Police (PNP), including the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-6) and Regional Forensic Unit (RFU-6).

Francisco assured that they will work closely with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) which is also conducting a separate investigation.

The victims and their friend Jebron Parohinog who survived were carrying P7.5 million in cash as debt payment when they were waylaid.

Days later, the local governments of Estancia and Iloilo City offered a total of P80,000 for information leading to the solution of the case.
