Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) District Engineer Gregorio D. Audea Jr. disclosed that the P9.6-million project funded under the 2022 national budget includes the construction of drainage canals on both sides of the road.

He said the improvement of the roads will ease the problems of flooding, especially for locals and motorists, leading to the Guagua Public Market.

“Heavy downpours often cause flooding along this particular stretch of road which has become a major problem for residents going to and from the Guagua Public Market, which is located near the Pampanga River. With the completion of this project, they no longer have to wade through flood waters,” Audea said.

The road improvement project also enhances connectivity to deliver essential goods and other necessities.
