Former Trade and Industry Undersecretary and Manila Bulletin columnist Atty. Victorio Mario Alonso Dimagiba has joined his Creator on Sept. 13, 2022. He was 73.
Atty. Vic is survived by his wife Cecilia Lourdes Mendoza Dimagiba, sons Victorio Mario Mendoza Dimagiba, Jr. and Antonio Jose Mendoza Dimagiba, daughter-in-law Ana Maria Ancheta Dimagiba, and granddaughters Madeleine Eugenie Ancheta Dimagiba and Meagan Victoria Ancheta Dimagiba.

During his stint at DTI, Atty. Vic was undersecretary for consumer welfare and protection group. This paved the way for him to pursue consumer advocacy upon retirement where he founded the Laban Konsyumer Inc. (LKI), which gained recognition and prominence here and abroad in a short time.
As the country’s most credible, fierce, nationalist, consumer advocate, Atty. Vic was the most sought after commentator from basic goods to electricity rates, among other issues affecting consumers.
He was invited to join Manila Bulletin to put his thoughts on his fight for the protection of consumers. His widely-read column, both print and online, was entitled “Consumer Hotline”.
