Nabe Japanese Izakaya Hot Pot opens at SM City Grand Central
By Rosemarie P. Bello

Filipinos' love for soup has always been deep. Especially during the rainy season, Pinoys take soup to keep warm through the cold weather. It's perfect that another wonderful hotpot experience has made itself available for hungry Pinoys.

At SM City Grand Central, a new branch of Nabe Japanese Izakaya Hot Pot recently opened, offering its delectable menu to more foodies. The idea of people gathering around a “nabe” (pot) has long been associated with family gatherings in Japan. At Nabe, they see to it that at each table is a hearty gathering. With tasty soup combinations such as a hot pot, diners get to consume desired things all in one bowl: soup, meat, and vegetables.
However, unlike the other hot pot restaurants in the Philippines where you freely customize your own soup base, there is no guessing game at Nabe. The restaurant presents 16 ready-to-cook soup bases including the famous Tan Tan, Spicy Miso, and Shoyu.

For only P588, patrons get to have a hot pot meal with unlimited vegetables, meat, and side dishes. Guests can also avail of an unlimited serving of their luscious Menchi Katsu, Tempura, and California Maki for only P288.

They aren’t joking when the Nabe staff says quality meat. Their US grade beef and pork are oozing with flavor, and are perfect for the savory soup bases. Guests don’t have to think so hard about what to choose because the staff recommends their must-try and best-selling menu items. The Angus beef and Pork Shoulder Boston meats are not to be missed as they are definite flavor bombs.

Nabe’s new branch is a feast for the senses as lights and spacious interiors give you that classic and sophisticated feel. Aside from the aesthetically pleasing view, the traditional Japanese dining table called “chabudai” is offered to guests in order for them to have a full-on Japanese experience. Sitting at this table requires guests to remove their footwear and sit on cushions on the floor.
Visit their new branch and satisfy your hotpot cravings this rainy season at Nabe Japanese Izakaya and Hot Pot, located on the third level of SM City Grand Central, Caloocan City.
