P6.3-M marijuana seized in Taytay, Rizal

Anti-narcotics operatives of Rizal Police and Calabarzon Police confiscated some P6.3 million worth of dried marijuana leaves from a “high-value individual” during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal Monday, Sept. 12.

Col. Dominic Baccay, Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, said Wednesday the buy-bust resulted in the arrest of a certain Vic in Barangay Sta. Ana, where he had been selling dried marijuana.

Seized from the suspect were 53 packs of dried marijuana leaves, a .45-caliber pistol, a 9mm Intratec Luger, two magazines for 9 mm, and several ammunition.

The suspect, according to the Rizal PPO, was listed as a “high value individual”.

Baccay said Region 4 A Police director Brig. Gen. Jose Nartatez, Jr. congratulated the operatives for their “remarkable” effort as he urged the policemen to continue intensifying their operations against the illegal drug personalities.
